Psychological Testing

Testing is performed to gain a deeper understanding of the individual that can be obtained from more than an interview. Our testing evaluations are designed to answer specific questions pertraining to the individual being tested. Therefore, the evaluations will be tailored to each individual. Testing is preceded by a clinical interview, a report in generated, and a follow-up session to discuss the results is conducted. The doctors at Dr. Nancy Bacher & Associates do not stop there. Our goal is to help the patients or the parents of the patients set priorities regarding recommendations and coordinating of treatment with other professionals to whom we refer you to. We do not consider our job a complete at the end of testing and remain as your consultant until the problems are remediated.

Personality Testing

Objective personality testing usually consists of paper and pencil tests such as the MMPI and or the MCMI. These tests offer hypothesis regarding the person functioning and clinical diagnosis if any. When combined with the clinical interview this gives your doctor a great deal of knowledge about the way you function so we can make appropriate treatment recommendations and know how to direct your therapy. To gain further information about issues that the person might not be aware, projective personality testing is also performed giving us a more in depth look at the personality structure.

Psycho Educational Evaluation

These are conducted to assess a person’s learning strengths and weaknesses and to diagnose conditions such as learning disabilities and ADHD for treatment purposes.
Testing results allow us to create individualized treatment plans for school and home. It also allows us to verify the accommodations needed for optimal performance in classroom and standardized testing. These tests can be performed for school aged children, college students, and licensing exams for various professions.

Developmental Evaluations

These evaluations are performed on young children 2-5 when there have been some delay in their developmental milestones. These areas include cognitive abilities, fine and gross motor abilities, speech and language skills and social and emotional functioning.

Neuropsychological Testing

Neuropsychological evaluations are conducted to provide more in depth information of brain dysfunction and its relationship to behavior. Areas that are examined include attention and concentration, working memory and visual auditory processing.

Gifted / Intelligence Testing

This testing is offered to individuals who have demonstrated advance skills and may need greater stimulation to challenge them so they can reach their full potential. Both Private and public schools usually accept licensed psychologist evaluations to help them determine gifted placement in the schools. Our doctors take their time and try to make it an enjoyable experience for each child.
